Where Can I Do My First Aid Course?
FAFM runs regular public first aid courses from our permanent venues, as well as scheduled classes in Victor Harbor, Christies Downs, Strathalbyn, and Newcastle. We also travel to your workplace for private group training across South Australia and New South Wales.
Why Book Your First Aid Course with FAFM?
Most first aid providers run through slides. We run through scenarios. Our sessions are led by instructors with real emergency response backgrounds, so you practice techniques the way they'd actually be used, not the way they look on paper.
Standard vs Express Training
Standard Training
The Standard face to face course is a longer duration and focusses on training of skills and knowledge as well as practical assessments.
Thorough training of skills and knowledge is to prepare students for the practical assessments on the day. The standard course is for those students who require practice of skills prior to partaking in the practical assessments.
As First Aid training is refreshed every three years, unless students are regularly completing workplace training, where the practice of hands on first aid skills take place, we recommend completing the standard course.
Express Training
Day time courses are marked in green. All evening classes are marked in orange.
The Express face to face course is a shorter duration and focusses on practical assessments only.
You must have a current HLTAID009, HLTAID011 or HLTAID012 certificate — or it has not expired past 30 days — to book an express training course.
The face-to-face session generally does not include preparation for practical assessments, as students are expected to attend the course with a level of practical experience to undertake the assessments.
As Express courses are strictly for experienced students, should students require further training to help them complete their practical assessments on the day, the trainer/assessor may charge an additional fee or recommend students complete further training including attending a standard course.
When booking your course, please take into consideration the following:
When you book a CPR course — HLTAID009 Provide CPR, you are booking a single training unit that covers CPR only.
When you book a HLTAID011 Provide First Aid or an HLTAID012 Provide first aid in an educational setting, the course HLTAID009 Provide CPR is included as well as HLTAID000 Basic emergency life support. You are not required to book an additional CPR course.
In all our training — CPR is the first section of the day, so we will always be the first training section we provide.
