Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (White card)

White Card is the common name for the ‘Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry CPCWHS1001’ training course. Holding a valid White Card means that you have completed official, certified general construction induction training with a registered organization within Australia.

According to National Code of Practice for Induction for Construction Workthe people who need a White Card include:

  • Construction labourers
  • Tradespeople
  • Site managers
  • Supervisors
  • Surveyors
  • People who access operational construction zones unaccompanied or unsupervised
  • Workers who routinely enter operational construction zones

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to perform a rescue from live low voltage (LV) electrical apparatus in an electricity supply industry (ESI) environment. This does not include overhead lines and underground cables.

It includes the organisational workplace requirements for the inspection and use of live LV panel rescue equipment, and how it applies to ESI workers to meet work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS), mobility and mutual aid requirements.

The application of the skills and knowledge described in this unit may require a licence/registration to practice in the workplace.

Other conditions may also apply under state and territory legislative and regulatory licensing requirements which must be confirmed prior to commencing this unit.

The following pre requisites are required to enrol in this training course and must be supplied on registration

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

and

UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace

or

UETDREL006 Work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker

Test and Tag

This unit involves the skills and kowledge required to conduct in-service safety testing of elecrical cord connected equipment and cord assemblies.

It includes working safely, using a portable appliance tester (PAT), identifying faults, applying tagging, arranging for repair of faulty equipment and complete testing documentation

This course comes with the required prerequisite unit which we supply in this training
